Website hosting and technical logs

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus. Pages are delivered through Hostinger's content delivery network (CDN). Serving a webpage requires processing technical information such as your IP address, the requested address, request time, browser information and response status. The hosting provider may retain access and security logs to operate and protect the service.

This processing supports our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Log retention is determined by the hosting service and applicable operational or legal requirements. Contact us if you need information about a particular request or retention period.

Hostinger processes this data on our behalf under its Data Processing Addendum, which forms part of its Terms of Service (Article 28 GDPR).

Cookies, analytics and search

This website does not set cookies or store anything in your browser, and we do not use advertising or third-party analytics. Fonts and illustrations are served from our website.

To see which pages are read, we run our own copy of Matomo, an open-source analytics tool, on our hosting at analytics.buyerdecision.com. When a page loads, a small script sends that server the page address, the referring website, your browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, language, the time of the visit and your IP address.

Matomo is set up without cookies. Your IP address is shortened (the last two parts are removed) before it is stored, so it cannot be used to identify you. To count visits, Matomo uses a one-way code built from the shortened IP address and browser details. The data stays on our Hostinger server and is not shared with anyone or used for advertising. We delete raw visit data after 13 months and keep only totals.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which content is useful and keeping the site working (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Nothing is stored on or read from your device for this, so no consent is needed. You can object at any time: block the script with a content blocker, or turn on the Do Not Track setting in your browser, which we respect.

Guide search filters the page in your browser. When you submit or open a search URL, its query may be included in the hosting request logs and your browser history. Do not enter sensitive personal information in search.

Email enquiries

If you email us, we process the information you provide to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR when the enquiry relates to a contract, or Article 6(1)(f) for our legitimate interest in responding to other correspondence. We retain correspondence only as needed for its purpose and any applicable legal obligations.

Following a link to a manufacturer or another external website takes you to a separate service whose privacy policy applies. Product links are described in our link disclosure.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. You also have the right to complain to a competent data protection supervisory authority.
