The short answer

buy the TCL QM6K when the live price is close to $550 for 55 inches and you mainly stream TV and light gaming. Choose the Hisense U7SG when you need four full-bandwidth HDMI inputs, a brighter panel for a sunlit room, or a higher native refresh rate, and the checkout price is close enough that the gap feels worth it.

When the QM6K wins

Money. At $549.99 for 55 inches on TCL’s store (16 October 2026) you get Mini-LED local dimming and 144Hz without paying midrange MSRP. For one console plus a streaming stick, two high-bandwidth HDMIs are enough.

When the U7SG wins

Inputs and bright rooms. Four HDMI 2.1 ports matter if you keep a PlayStation, Xbox, PC and soundbar plugged in at once. Hisense also pushes a low-reflection panel and higher brightness claims, which help when windows face the screen. Confirm the live price: MSRP alone is not the value number.

What would change the answer

  • If the U7SG is within about $100–150 of the QM6K at the size you want, the extra inputs and brightness usually win for gamers.
  • If you mainly watch films in a dark room and can spend more, compare the TCL QM7L before you stretch to U7SG MSRP.
  • Size first: use the TV size calculator, then the budget TV quiz.

FAQ

Is the Hisense U7SG better than the TCL QM6K?

On paper for gaming ports and brightness claims, often yes. On price for everyday TV, the QM6K is usually the better value until the U7SG is heavily discounted.

Does the QM6K have four HDMI 2.1 ports?

TCL’s US quick-start guide rates HDMI 1 and 2 for up to 4K/144Hz and HDMI 3 and 4 for up to 4K/60Hz. Treat “four HDMI 2.1” marketing carefully and check the QSG for your exact model.
