Which earbuds suit an iPhone?
AirPods Pro 3. Pairing, switching between Apple devices, the Hearing Test and Hearing Aid features, and Live Translation all depend on Apple’s ecosystem. Apple rates them IP57 for dust, sweat and water, the highest rating of the three, and the charging case has a speaker for Find My.
On Android they still work as Bluetooth earbuds, but you lose most of what makes them worth buying.
Which earbuds suit Android?
The Sony WF-1000XM6. Sony rates them at up to 8 hours with noise cancelling and 12 hours without, supports the LDAC codec for higher-bitrate audio on compatible Android phones, and connects to two devices at once. The trade-off is price: $329.99 is $80 more than AirPods Pro 3. Sony notes the charging case is not water resistant.
When are the Bose earbuds the right pick?
When fit is your problem. Bose includes three ear tip sizes and three stability band sizes, which can help if other earbuds fall out or press uncomfortably. Bose rates them at 6 hours, the shortest of the three, or 4 hours with its Immersive Audio mode on.
Are the older models still worth buying?
Only at a clear discount. The Sony WF-1000XM5 has the same rated 8 hours as the XM6 and may be cheaper now that its replacement is out. AirPods Pro 2 lack the IP57 rating and heart rate sensing of the Pro 3. Compare the older model’s sale price with the current one before you decide.
